The Dirt Bowl is a summer long tournament that starts June 7th at 100 pm!! 24 men's teams, 4 women's teams, 6 Jr. Dirt Bowl teams, 400+ players and the atmosphere at Shawnee Park during the weekend in the summer is unmatched!

The Dirt Bowl started in June 1969 when 2 college students, Ben Watkins & Janice Miller, decided to start a summer basketball tournament. Since then, thousands of hoopers from the region, including NBA & NCAA stars, have graced the courts at Shawnee Park

Dirt Bowl games are played each weekend  at Shawnee Park. The 1st Dirt Bowl, in 1969, was played at Algonguin Park, but, was relocated to Shawnee Park in 1970. The court is named after legendary Dirt Bowl announcer, Cornell Bradley.
